Black Limestone paving is a hard wearing, durable paving slab, which makes it popular in the Irish climate. It’s relatively smooth (but not slippery) and flat and has an “orange peel” type of look to its surface. The texture is very tactile and “grippy”, and the edges are hand dressed and fine-tumbled. The tumbled process makes them historical feelings with worn-out edges.
Our natural black limestone paving slabs are calibrated at 22mm. Being a natural stone a variance of up to 4mm (on average) either way and throughout the stone is to be expected, but should not affect the ease of laying. Limestone products are entirely natural and will feature variations in colour, tone and pattern. This is a feature of the natural stone and the exact colours you will receive can never be pre-determined.
